indie comes to Tenby

Great indie and country/rock music with bits of irish fiddle jig bits. Good musicians delivered at good pace, not many quiet spaces

Seth as good as ever!

Great to see the whole band having such a good time while the audience does too.

Great performance

Seen Seth many times over the last 20 years but this was a brilliant gig. Great atmosphere and a superb performance. Not been to the De Valence pavilion before but it's a lovely space for this type of gig. We will be back again.

Consistently a top performer

Seth and his extremely talented band excelled at the Metronome in Nottingham last Friday night. The audience was swept away to the wilds of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset with stellar performances from each band member making it an evening to remember.

Seth Lakeman grew up in a musical family and formed a folk band with his brothers Sean and Sam Lakeman. The trio released the album Three Piece Suite in 1994 before touring Portugal with the Yorkshire based singles Kathryn Roberts and Kate Rusby.

Finding that the pair worked well with the brothers, the five musicians formed a group called Equation and quickly signed to Time Warner. The bands career lasted from 1995 until 2001 and saw them produce three albums; Return to Me (1996), Hazy Daze (1998) and The Lucky Few (2000). Seth also worked on his brother’s solo album which won two awards at the 2002 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Seth struck out as a solo artist in 2002 with the release of the first of many excellent albums titled The Punch Bowl. Other standout records include the 2005 release Kitty Jay which saw the singer received a Mercury Music Prize nomination and the 2006 album Freedom Fields which featured the singles The White Hare and Lady Of The Sea and went gold. 2014 saw the release of his amazing Word Of Mouth album. Recorded in a church in East Cornwall, the songs tell the everyday real-life stories of the folk from the region. The stories resonate especially well due to Seth being a local lad himself. The record won Best Album in the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
