Best Performance Ever

I've waited a long time to get the chance to see this performance and wow what a performance. The best ever: original vocals from epic Lisa Gerrard and Lion King vocals. Every band / orchestra member were the best at what they did also with incredible talent.

Staggering Performance

A day later and I'm still in awe of what I witnessed. The lighting, graphics, choreography, and guests were all brilliant and I haven't even got on to the music. From being blasted by a wall of sound to the point where you could hear a pin drop, the music and tempo moves from exciting to deeply emotional. I've little idea who each singer was, but every one provided something different: from a primaeval scream to tenderness to joy. As for the musicians, as Hans Zimmer stated each is a virtuoso musician in their own right but together with the orchestra from Ukraine this was off the scale. Finally, talking of Ukraine, Hans Zimmer proudly places their struggle at he front of everything. From start to finish the massive crowd is enveloped in blue and yellow lighting. Emotional on so many levels.

Best show I've ever seen.

Hans Zimmer by far is one of the best composer's of our generation. To see him in action was like seeing Beethoven or Handel back in the day. I will never forget it.

Hans Florian Zimmer is a German composer of note. His talent for writing awe inspiring films scores that integrate traditional classical music with contemporary electronic instruments has seen him rise beyond his peers and mark him out as one of the greats of our time.

Hans has scored well over 150 award winning films, writing music for The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar, 12 Years A Slave, Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, Sherlock Holmes, As Good As It Gets, The Preacher’s Wife, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and The Prince of Egypt.

Most famously, he won an Oscar for Best Music, Original Score for Disney’s The Lion King, which was also awarded a global globe and two Grammys. In total he has received 10 Golden Globe Awards, 4 Grammys, 2 Golden Globes, a BAFTA and many nominations for the most illustrious industry awards.

Artist Bio

Hans Florian Zimmer is a German composer of note. His talent for writing awe inspiring films scores that integrate traditional classical music with contemporary electronic instruments has seen him rise beyond his peers and mark him out as one of the greats of our time.

Zimmer spent the initial years of his career in the UK as a synthesizer session player and worked on the hit 1979 single Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles. Whilst in the UK, Zimmer co-founded the Lille Yard recording studio with Stanley Myers. The pair would write scores for films that would fuse traditional classical music with the use of cutting edge electronic equipment which would become Zimmer’s signature sound.

It was also at this time he wrote the theme music for the hit BBC gameshow Going For Gold in 1987.

His first major success came when he was asked to score the music for Rain Man. The 1988 classical film starred Hollywood greats Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman and saw Zimmer nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Music: Original Score. This preceded a huge rise in work for more big budget American films.
Today he is head of the film division at Dreamworks Studios and is known for being the composer of choice by many of the world’s very best directors, notably Chris Nolan, Hans has scored well over 150 award winning films. He has written the music for The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar, 12 Years A Slave, Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, Sherlock Holmes, As Good As It Gets, The Preacher’s Wife, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and The Prince of Egypt.

His distinguished career has taken him all over the world and greatly decorated. Most famously, he won an Oscar for Best Music, Original Score for Disney’s The Lion King, which was also awarded a global globe and two Grammys.

Named by The Daily Telegraph in their list of Top 100 Living Geniuses, Zimmer has also received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as being presented with the prestigious Henry Mancini Award For Lifetime Achievement which was bestowed by the American Society Of Composers, Authors And Publishers in recognition of his incredible body of work.
