Rag N Bone Man, Cardiff Castle, Cardiff - 25th June 2023

Wet but good

The day was very wet and by the time Rag and Bone man came on cold, everyone had been standing there for a long time so although I enjoyed his performance I thought his consideration for his fans a little bit lacking, in the fact that he still had the long build up to coming on and an encore at the end, it would have been nice of him to just perform his routine without this so that his fans could get out of the rain and cold

A brilliant performance

A brilliant performance from Rag N Bone man and his backing singers and band. Despite the constant rain leaving us soaked through.. we didn’t want to leave .

Rag n Bone Man

Rag N Bone Man was excellent despite the rain and wind. Thought he did really well. Our problem was that although it was great that we were seated out of the rain we could not see properly because of a lack of video screens. Which made a huge difference to our enjoyment of the event. I have been to Eirias Park for many concerts before and this was never a problem then so was very surprised to have no video screen back up. Also could not see the support acts either.

A native of rural East Sussex, Rory Graham rose to prominence under the Rag’n’Bone Man moniker in 2016 with the release of ‘Human’; showcasing a characteristic blend of traditional blues and hip hop and introducing the world to his powerfully deep baritone voice.

Having won the 2017 BRIT’s ‘British Breakthrough Act’ and receiving the BRIT’s ‘Critics’ Choice Award’ in the same year, Rory cemented his success with critics with the record-breaking release of his 4x platinum, #1 album ‘Human’. A plethora of international accolades followed including a further BRIT Award for ‘Best Single of the Year’ for Human in 2018. Rory began collecting his dedicated fan base incredibly early on in his career; a fan base that has continued to grow and sell out tours around the globe.

Artist Bio

Singer and song writer Rory Graham is better known by his stage name Rag N Bone Man. Coming out of Uckfield near Brighton, he has been impressing everyone with the very best banging beats with even better yet to come.

Rag ‘N’ Bone Man has been a prolific underground name for a couple of years now, honing a ferocious live reputation through guitar wielding solo performances, as the resident vocalist of rap's Rum Committee, and now through his first release through independent label ‘Best Laid Plans’: Wolves. And, like many things, it began with the blues. Having discovered the genre as a child, the rhythmic troubles that rang out from his parents' record player planted a stubborn seed in this kid's head and it wasn't long before the youngster was venturing through classic realms of soul, jazz and folk.

By the age of 15 Graham was an MC in a drum and bass crew under the name Rag N Bonez. Regularly attending hip hop nights around Brighton where he would sharpen his rap skills, he then set his sights on London. Once in the capital he hooked up with Gizmo and DJ Direct to form The Rum Committee. They would soon play support for such big names as KRS-One and Pharoahe Monch.

In 2011 Graham began working with Hip Hop label High Focus with whom he began making releases. This led to a collaboration with producer Mark Crew which led to a publishing deal with Warner Chappell. In 2014 he released the Wolves EP which featured the likes of Kae Tempest, Vince Staples and Stig Of The Dump. The following year he released second EP Disfigured which featured the track Bitter End - made popular after being added to the BBC Radio 1 Xtra playlist.

His latest release is new single Human. Out now through Columbia Records.

Graham has also worked as a singer, and has released a blues jam vocal EP named Blues Town.
