One of the best-selling songwriters of the 21st century, affable gent James Blunt is best known for such colossal anthemic singles as "1973", "You're Beautiful", "Goodbye My Lover", "Bonfire Heart" and "Stay the Night".
This year sees the release of his brand-new album Who We Used to Be and the announcement of a huge tour in 2024. James Blunt tickets are released at 10:00 on Friday 1st of September – CLICK HERE to set your event reminder.
Former reconnaissance officer James Hillier Blount had served in the British Army before becoming the famed songwriter we know today. His six-year service included active duty in Kosovo and a posting to the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment in London as a member of the Queen's Guard. During this time, Blount began to pen his own music and wrote the song "No Bravery" whilst making inroads into the industry.
Leaving the army to pursue a career in music, Blount would adopt the now-familiar stage name of James Blunt and enter the studio to record his debut album Back To Bedlam. During this time, he would lodge with Carrie Fisher, writing his hit single “Goodbye My Lover" in the Star Wars actress's bathroom. Back To Bedlam would become an international hit upon release in 2005 and, thanks to such anthemic singles as “High”, "You're Beautiful" and “Goodbye My Lover"; it would sell 2.4 million copies. Now certified x10 Platinum, Back To Bedlam is one of the best-selling records of the 00s.
Riding high, Blunt’s follow-up LP All the Lost Souls – which included smash hit lead single "1973" - would become a Gold-selling record in just four days and eventually reach x3 Platinum. His success would continue with further Platinum selling albums Some Kind of Trouble and Moon Landing whilst riding high in the Top 10 with his latest offerings The Afterlove and Once Upon A Mind.
Now, James Blunt prepares to launch his eagerly awaited new album Who We Used to Be. It includes the rip-roaring single “Beside You” and will be promoted with a massive tour in 2024. Get your tickets with Gigantic on Friday!
