Jay1 is a British rapper from Coventry, known for his catchy hooks and energetic delivery. Along with the EP comes a documentary: Amazon +44 presents: JAY1. The documentary is an intimate and detailed portrait of one of the most exciting rappers to have burst on to the UK scene in years. It follows the young British MC as he journeys from his native North London to his adopted home town of Coventry, this film sees JAY1 tell the story - with the help of family, friends and collaborators in his One Wave crew - of how he went from being an aspiring footballer to local legend to mastermind of top 20 UK chart hits like “Becky” and “Your Mrs.”. This isn’t a grime film, nor a drill one - as JAY1 himself would put it, it’s purely a “Cov Wave”.

The project comes following his most recent track ‘Patiently’ �" Watch HERE. On ‘Patiently’, JAY1 is back with his signature drawl and sparse production. It’s an ominous warning to any of his doubters that it’s “2021 just wait on me” At points in his sharp rise to fame, internet trolls have attempted to downplay Jay’s success, a sentiment that Jay continues to shut down with his braggadocious bars.
