I saw Beaux Gris Gris earlier in the year at the beginning of their UK tour and immediately booked a ticket for the 100 Club gig. I listened to the latest album hundreds of times it’s that good. I wasn’t to be disappointed as they started off with songs from Hot Nostalgia Radio and this was with a guest line up on bass, drums and keys as well as a horn section. There was a good size crowd all up for whatever was going to happen as they powered through the set. An hour and a half later and we are still shouting for more and are treated to an all hands on deck version of 20th Century Boy with all guests and band on stage belting out the rock classic. Greta and Robin head out a sharp outfit on both sides of the pond but the crew with them on Friday at the 100 Club brought the party. It’s a great venue and this was the best gig I’ve seen there ever.

Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse, 100 Club, London - 26th July 2024
My third time of seeing BGG and once again a blinding performance. I am amazed at how hard these guys work to give us these performances as they seem not to hold back anything. If you haven't seen BGG, they are a fantastic live act. In the three times I have seen them they have had a different line up (bass, keyboards and drums). I wonder about this and there are some obvious differences in quality. For me, the second time I saw them was the the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket. That was 11 out of 10. At the 100 Club the gig included three special guests and the went on for about 2 and half hours, without a pause. The location was excellent, both friendly and well-priced. The tickets were a good price and the bar excellent value for money. £3.30 for a drink and crips in Oxford Street? Amazing. In a final note, half the audience was made up of dedicated followers who are snapping up the tickets as soon as they come on sale. If you get the chance, don't wait, grab a ticket and a brilliant experience.
