Great bands at a fab grass roots venue

Love this little venue My first time attending, started with the Sunday roast which huge ! And good food then off to the main event The three bands I didn’t know the first two but iterating non the less they were great Now then, I’ve know Abdou for (probably) too many years they are part and parcel of my family and although they’re not always playing you can always rely on them to put on a bigger than life show The sound was great as was the lighting If this was nearer to me I’d be at this venue more often , it reminds me of many gigs I attended as a youth Hopefully it’ll carry on for years to come

ABDOUJAPAROV and GUESTS @ the (Oct) Undercover Punky Sunday Roasts at Suburbs The Holroyd Guildford, Suburbstheholroyd, Guildford - 27th October 2024

Abdoujaparov is a British punk band formed by Les "Fruitbat" Carter, formerly of Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, in 1998. The band's sound combines upbeat punk rock with catchy melodies and quirky, often humorous lyrics. Abdoujaparov takes its name from the notorious Uzbek cyclist Djamolidine Abdoujaparov, known for his aggressive racing style, which reflects the band's energetic and unpredictable approach to music.

Throughout their career, Abdoujaparov has released a series of EPs and albums, such as Air Odeon Disco Pub and Cycle Riot History Gang, gaining a loyal cult following. Their music often deals with everyday life, satirical social commentary, and offbeat storytelling, delivered with punk rock intensity. Known for their lively and engaging live performances, Abdoujaparov has remained a beloved act within the UK's underground punk scene.
