We have a lot of love for local legend Jake Bugg in Gigantic HQ and it’s been a couple of years since the Nottingham based singer \ song writer released his latest Top 10 album ‘Hearts That Strain’. Fortunately, he’s now back with his superb new single ‘Kiss Like The Sun’ which is Bugg at his country blues best.
‘Kiss Like The Sun’ is the lead single from his as yet untitled fifth album which he is currently working on with the aide of Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Cardi B) who is taking on production duties.
“I love working with Andrew Watt and I’m really pleased with the sound of this track. I wanted to write something that was fun and a bit light-hearted.”
Feeder fans will no doubt be thrilled with the release of their new single ‘Criminal’. Taken from their latest LP ‘Tallulah’ released in August, it’s a four-minute rampage of indie rock in the style we know and love the band for that takes on the 1% on their damaging effects on the world.
The awesome band celebrate their entire back catalogue plus new material with a tour this month. So, come get high with your friends and see Feeder blow the roof off!
Neo classical favourites Bond have released their exhilarating single ‘Panthera’ which has a truly cinematic quality and conjures a real sense of danger. Daring to take unexpected turns through novel song writing and innovative use of technology, the band tap into a primal urgency. Don’t miss them when they play at Union Chapel in London on Saturday 25th of January.
“In writing this we were trying to capture the sense of invincibility - the feeling you have when you think nothing can get in your way - that you can overcome anything. That sense seemed to be embodied by a Panther - strong, lithe, agile -and wild. We really enjoyed writing this single together and with Toby Pitman at Air Studios. We achieved that wild cat sound with a violin through a wah wah pedal.” – Eos Chater
Lanterns On The Lake have a haunting beauty which echoes in the soul and stirs the heart. Now, the Newcastle based dream pop band address the grieving process in their magnificent new single ‘Every Atom’.
"This is a song about grief and how your subconscious takes a long time to accept when someone is dead and gone forever, even when the rational side of you understands it. I put that idea into a story where the narrator is my subconscious searching for someone in this dream-like fictional world. I go to the extremes to search for even just a trace of them… through all of space and time, splitting every atom, ‘until Andromeda and the Milky Way collide’. I won’t give up. I can’t let go." – Hazel Wilde
‘Every Atom’ will feature on their next album ‘Spook the Herd’ which is scheduled for release on Friday 21st of February 2020 via Bella Union and is promoted with a tour in April 2020.
The past two years have seen the meteoric rise of LA singer Charlotte Lawrence. Her unique take on alt pop has been revealed through a string of powerful singles ‘Why Do You Love Me’ we came out earlier tin the year. Now, she drops her new dark song ‘God Must Be Doing Cocaine’.
Taking a minimalist approach to ambient electronica, Lawrence takes a long hard look at a world which feels like it’s starting to spin off its axis as AI’s begin to take over as the dominant form of intelligence and humans are more concerned with denying their nature in favour of pursuing vanity. Lawrence summarising that the masterplan must be going sideways owing to God going on a late night coke bender – after all, it is a hell of a drug!
The peak of British soul; Simply Red emerged in the mid-80’s to become on o the best loved and biggest selling bands before splitting in 2010. Now Mick Hucknall reunites the Grammy Award winning band and releases stunning new album ‘Blue Eyed Soul’.
Recapturing the spirit of such classic albums as ‘Stars’ and ‘A New Flame’, all ten songs were written by Hucknall and recorded at Mark Knopfler’s famed British Grove studios in London with Andy Wright working as producer.
