Excellent night!

Outstanding performance I was glad to have witnessed live. SS obviously loves performing for an audience and you feel that he is performing just for you. A legend and shows that life begins at 60+ !!!

Great Performance from Sea Sick Steve

The Motor Point Arena in Cardiff is not my favourite venue it reminds me of a large school hall assemblies and lacks atmosphere. However Sea Sick Steve and his band created with own unique style created atmosphere with there southern style blues and crowd interaction. The Drummer Crazy Ken i believe he was called was just amazing there was a real symmetry between him and Seasick almost telepathic and the other guitarist was a solo act on his own who blended in with great solos and guitar battles A Memorable Night

Bearded singer-songwriter Seasick Steve is a blues musician from Oakland, California. First finding an audience in the UK, he appeared on Jools Holland's New Year Hootenanny in 2006 marking a major breakthrough moment for the raucous guitarist.

Seasick Steve has released thirteen studio albums, including his best-sellers I Started Out with Nothin and I Still Got Most of It Left (2008), Man from Another Time (2009), and Sonic Soul Surfer (2015).

Artist Bio

Steven Gene Wold started out on the guitar as a very young child, taught by blues great K.C. Douglas who was working at his grandfather’s garage. He ran away from home at the age of thirteen to escape mistreatment from his stepfather and began a life on the tracks hitching lifts on passing freight trains and looking for work wherever he could find it.

In the Sixties Steve began to build on his skill as a guitarist focussing on getting paid to play switching from casual labour to work as a session musician and studio engineer. Over the decades Steve honed his craft as he worked on other people’s recordings and continued his trade of busking.

In the 2000’s he handpicked people to work with and released his debut album Cheap in 2004 and second album Dog House Music in 2006. He grew in popularity through word of mouth and saw Steve perform on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny on New Years Eve. This fantastic exposure saw his popularity explode in the UK earning him the 2007 MOJO Award for Best Breakthrough Act and led to performances at Leeds/Reading Festival and Glastonbury followed by a tour.

To date he has now released a further six studio albums (eight in total) and has continued to grow in reputation and esteem and has won a Brit Award for International Solo Artist in 2009.

We are now getting fresh report of his forthcoming release; Can U Cook? Expected to be a fresh serving of his favourite sounds, his ninth album will include blues, rock, folk and Americana. Recorded in a converted ice house on the dock in Key West, Florida and produced by Seasick Steve himself " “It was made down south, way down south, as far south as you can go and still have your boots in America. Anyways, I luv it and i’m hoping y’all like it too.
