She’s a dancing queen

I loved how engrossing Mitski’s dancing was as well as the awesome performances from the band! My only gripe was with sound levels as it seemed Mitski’s mic and the bass were easily overpowered by the drums on louder song. Other than that, the lighting was fantastic and their delivery left me with an unforgettable experience!

Mitski, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London - 26th September 2018

Unforgettable Night

I loved watching Mitski perform. I also managed to get a photo pass from Parallel Lines promotions, so being able to photograph her and get so close to the stage was truly special and unforgettable. The stage lighting was also really beautiful, with such intricate patterns. Thank you very much! 😊

Mitski returns with “Working for the Knife,” a new single/video and the announcement of a UK and European tour for Spring 2022.

“Working for the Knife” surges with synth and a syncopated beat, driven by Mitski’s tenor and production by longtime collaborator Patrick Hyland. “It’s about going from being a kid with a dream, to a grown up with a job, and feeling that somewhere along the way you got left behind. It’s being confronted with a world that doesn’t seem to recognize your humanity, and seeing no way out of it,” explains Mitski. The video, filmed at The Egg in Albany, NY and directed by Zia Anger with Ashley Connor directing photography, presents a performer returning to the same cruel world that gave birth to her. Mitski’s dedication to both sonic and physical presentation is on full display -- every muscle is activated and purposeful, giving itself over to the story of the choreography. It’s dynamic and gritty with a new intensity we haven’t yet seen from Mitski.

Mitski will follow a new US tour in February/March with a full tour of the UK and Europe in the Spring. The UK dates will stop at Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow, Dublin, and Manchester before concluding at The Roundhouse in London on 28th April. The tour then continues in Europe, right through to Munich on the 19th May. These will be Mitski’s first shows over here since September 2018 in support of the superlative and widely acclaimed record, Be The Cowboy.

Artist Bio

Songwriter, musician and performer Mitski has released five full-length albums. The most recent of which, 2018’s Be The Cowboy, was named Album of the Year by the likes of Pitchfork, Vulture, Consequence, ESQUIRE, and FLOOD, and the #2 Album of 2018 by The New York Times (Jon Pareles), NPR Musicand SPIN. It launched Mitski from cult favorite to indie star, landing her an extensive profile in The New Yorker and performances on Austin City Limits and Jimmy Kimmel Live! (she played The Late Show with Stephen Colbert following the release of 2016’s Puberty 2). After being off the road since September 2019, Mitski makes a daring return with new single/video “Working For The Knife,” which signifies a new intensity we haven’t yet seen from her yet.
