Artist Bio

The evening will now be headlined by middle-class funnyman Hal Cruttenden. He is one of the top stand up comedians working in the UK today, as well as being a highly accomplished writer and actor. With his ability to mix the personal, the surreal, the ridiculous and the politics he delivers an energetic and absorbing performance.

He has made several appearances on ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ and ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’ as well as his regular appearances on shows such as ‘Mock the Week’, ‘The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice’ ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired’ and ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’. On the radio, the second series of his sitcom ‘Hal’ (co-written with Dominic Holland) was recently broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and he has released two comedy DVDs, ‘Tough Luvvie’ and ‘Straight Outta Cruttenden’. He has toured the country extensively and, in the last two years, has also taken shows to the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the New Zealand Comedy Festival. He is also a three-time Chortle Award nominee and was nominated for the Perrier Newcomer Award back in 2002.
