Bob Vylan, Electric Brixton, London - 8th November 2024

Bobtastic

Bob Vylan mind blowing. Loudest gig I have seen for many years. Brilliant songs and even the talks between songs were enjoyable. The support act Hyphen the best support act I have seen probably since I saw Bob Vylan as a support back in 2022.

Bob Vylan, Rock City, Nottingham - 5th November 2024

Fun

The band were amazing but the venue felt extremely overcrowded. It was difficult to move around and a nightmare accessing cloakroom.

Bob Vylan, O2 Forum Kentish Town, London - 25th November 2023

Explosive truths from the mastermind

Epic performance of a genius. Capturing all that needs to be said about our system of society and the need to reorder the order! No panto Vylan here. Loved every minute of this ride.

Taking the raw power of punk and fusing it with the energy of hip hop; Bob Vylan are the politically charged grime pairing of Bobby Vylan and Bobbie Vylan.

They have released three studio albums, including Dread (2019), We Live Here (2021) and Bob Vylan Presents The Price Of Life (2022).

Artist Bio

Having been a band for around 4 years, the BOB VYLAN sound is ever evolving and crosses genres and sonic dimensions. They incorporate these multiple styles in their music in an attempt to bridge genres and subcultures together. Their unique style has found them embraced by rock crowds and rap crowds alike and their independent nature has seen them start their own record label by the name of Ghost Theatre to release their music free from the restraints of major label politics, a route that led them to number 18 on the UK album charts, 4 in
the physical charts and number 3 on the independent charts, with their most recent album Bob Vylan Presents The Price Of Life. The first time in history that an album entirely produced, recorded and mixed by the band and released on the bands own label has reached the top 20.

Speaking on their latest album, Bob explains a bit more about the album, it's themes and ideas for this next phase for BOB VYLAN, "This project has allowed us the space to showcase diferent sides of our personalities. We don’t want to give the same thing over and over again, so we’re tackling topics in a diferent way this time. It’s serious and funny, it’s communal and obnoxious, it’s many things at any given time, and it’s a concept project. It explores the idea of paying your way through life and the expense of living in a society that places money above all else. It explores the places we’ve come from and the extremes we’ve seen people
go to in order to survive. It also looks at the nuances around money in our society, the less obvious connections, like the world of advertising and art having to align with advertisers values in order to be given a platform, as well as the price of healthy eating, the cost of technology not necessarily on our pockets but on our lives."

This band are all about community, and for them, their live show is a place where
they can really express that. At each show, they start of with mediation and end
with a group hug, but what’s between the meditative start and embracing end is a message delivered in a way that both Bobby and Bobbie feel has been missing. Live show wise, last year saw their UK headline tour in the summer of 2021 sell out and they went on to play at Reading and Leeds and ALT LDN
festivals, be the main support to Bify Cylro through October/November and supported The Ofspring in arenas across the UK. This year they they will embark on another UK headline tour in May after a sold out Ireland tour earlier the year. Festival season sees them playing Glastonbury, Full force, 2000 Trees, Jera on
Air,Rebellion Festival, Boomtown, Pukkelpop and Riot Fest in the USA as well as many more.
