The Wurzels - The Cotswolds Cider Festival + Corky, Bingham Hall, Cirencester - 31st May 2024

The Wurzels.

Ever since hearing their 70's hit the combine harvester I've been wanting to see them live. At last I had the chance and believe me it was worth the 40+ years wait, brilliant performance.

The Wurzels Christmas Party!, The Blake Hall, Bridgwater - 14th December 2019

The Wurzels are a British band formed in 1966, known for their distinctive blend of scrumpy and western music, a genre that fuses traditional folk with elements of country and humour.

Originating from Somerset, England, the band gained popularity with their lively performances and humorous, relatable lyrics that often celebrate rural life and the West Country culture.

The original lineup featured lead vocalist and bassist Pete Budd, alongside guitarist Tommy Banner, banjo player and accordionist, and drummer. Their most famous song, "Combine Harvester," a chart-topping hit in 1976, showcases their playful style and clever wordplay.

The Wurzels have continued to entertain audiences with their catchy tunes and engaging stage presence, regularly performing at festivals and events across the UK.

With a discography that spans decades, The Wurzels remain a beloved institution in British music, known for their fun, energetic performances and deep roots in the West Country folk tradition.
