The Futureheads are a post-punk band from Sunderland, UK, known for their energetic sound and tight harmonies. Emerging in the early 2000s, they gained prominence with their self-titled debut album, The Futureheads (2004), featuring the hit single "Decent Days and Nights". Their cover of Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love" became a defining track. Other notable albums include News and Tributes (2006), This Is Not the World (2008), and Powers (2019). Renowned for their live performances, they have supported acts such as Foo Fighters and The Strokes on tour, earning critical acclaim for their dynamic shows.

Artist Bio

The Futureheads are back! Their many dedicated fans will be thrilled to hear of their intentions to return to the stage.

Like 70s post-punks Wire, British rockers The Futureheads show little regard for traditional verse/chorus/verse structure, yet still manage to come away with irresistibly hook-laden songs that cover an immense amount of ground in impossibly brief periods.” - Sam Ubl, Pitchfork

Formed in 2000 whilst studying at the City Of Sunderland College, The Futureheads consisted of Peter Brewis (drums), Ross Millard (vocals and guitar), Barry Hyde (vocals and guitar) and David "Jaff" Craig (bass).

Taking post punk as their prime direction, they blossomed as the genre experienced a revival in the post millennium years and quickly became at the forefront by the time of the release of their eponymously titled debut album. This was in no small part due to their knack for a catchy hook as exhibited on the single Decent Days And Nights plus their incredible cover of Kate Bush’s Hounds Of Love.

This rise has continued with subsequent album titles New and Tributes, This Is Not The World, The Chaos and their latest LP release Rise which came out in 2012.
