Lyrical Miracle

I'm not really a Talib fan but knew he had skills, which he displayed very well in a nice lickle venue...then stopped by 'Refill' for Jerk Chicken...a night of Twerk & Jerk...beat that!!!

Talib Kweli, Electric Brixton, London - 7th November 2018

Talib Kweli is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York, celebrated for his socially conscious lyrics and dynamic flow. He gained prominence with singles like "Get By" and "Hot Thing." His discography includes the albums Quality (2002), Eardrum (2007), and Radio Silence (2017). Kweli has performed at notable festivals such as Coachella and has supported artists like Common on tour, cementing his reputation as a powerful voice in hip-hop.

Artist Bio

Hip Hop activist Talib Kweli broke out of the Brooklyn underground scene to achieve worldwide fame in the 90’s. Teaming up with Mos Def, the rappers formed the group Black Star who released the critically acclaimed yet little known album Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star.

Kweli continues to be one of the world’s leading creative rap energies with each new record eagerly awaited.

Radio Silence is a jazzy, soulful call to action, a think-piece and a middle-finger to the trolls who claim he fell off; you can still find his name "in the middle of equality."” - Exclaim

After nearly 20 years of releasing mesmerizing music, Talib Kweli stands as one of the world’s most talented and most accomplished hip hop artists. Whether working with Mos Def as one-half of Black Star, partnering with producer Hi-Tek for Reflection Eternal, releasing landmark solo material or collaborating with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Just Blaze, J Dilla, or Madlib, Kweli commands attention by delivering top-tier lyricism, crafting captivating stories and showing the ability to rhyme over virtually any type of instrumental.

In 2011, Kweli founded Javotti Media, which is self-defined as “a platform for independent thinkers and doers.” Kweli has set out to make Javotti Media (which released his 2011 album, Gutter Rainbows, and is named after his paternal grandmother) into a media powerhouse that releases music, films and books.
