Great show

I really enjoyed the show, love the city hall, support band souloutions were a good turn, great sound quality, to shalamar great entertainment, carolyn griffey is a singer, the great howard hewett one of the great soul singers of the last 40 years in my opinion was a bit below par, but still at half blast was great

Great atmosphere

Thoroughly enjoyed,if you enjoy that era of music this groups for you. Howard Hewitt still has a great voice, and Jeffery Daniels too plus the moves,the replacement for Jodie whatley personally I think was a great improvement, fabulous voice. Shame it wasn't better attend,great party atmosphere,people dancing in the aisle .

Artist Bio

Shalamar first grabbed attention in 1977 with the release of their first single Uptown Festival. It would also become the name of their debut album which would feature a string of fantastic motown tracks and hit #48 in the Billboard 200. This was followed by amazing second album Disco Gardens in 1978.

They moved into their era of pop dance soul in 1979. The new direction was a huge hit with their audiences and the album Big Fun hit #23 in the Billboard 200. Selling more than 500,000 copies, it has now been certified Gold. Their 1980 hit album Three For Love continued their success to also become a Gold selling record with the sound continuing in 1981 with Go For It.

Their 1982 album Friends marks their true breakthrough moment. The album features the single A Night To Remember which was promoted by an appearance on Top Of The Pops - a performance that introduced Britain to body popping. The record would top the R&B charts in the States and become another Gold selling record, only to perform even better in the UK and be certified Platinum.

They would continue to be at the forefront of disco until 1990 with a steady stream of excellent album such as The Look, Heartbreak, Circumstantial Evidence and Wake Up.
