Australian electro-pop group Confidence Man take dance music into the 21st century. Their self-described bubblegum-warehouse sound sees their sexy beats matched by high-energy shows complete with dazzling self-choreographed dance routines.
Fronted by Sugar Bones (aka Aidan Moore) and Janet Planet (aka Grace Stephenson), the iconic pair are shadowed by masked producers Clarence McGuffie (aka Sam Hales) and Reggie Goodchild (aka Lewis Stephenson) playing keys and drums.
This year sees the unveiling of their next record 3AM (La La La). Inspired by prankster dance pioneers The KLF, the Brisbane band recruited none other than the legendary Jimmy Cauty who has mentored the group ahead of the release and remixed the closing track. It follows their mind-blowing Glastonbury performance which has taken the rising stars to the brink of massive mainstream success.

The song that started it all! “Boyfriend (Repeat)” is the sassy debut single by everyone’s favourite electro-pop group Confidence Man. The anti-love anthem describes being stuck with a perfectly nice bloke who just won’t shut up and doesn’t generate that spark.
Found on the first album Confident Music for Confident People, “Boyfriend (Repeat)” has been a mainstay for almost every show and live performances see the band order the audience to crouch during the droning bridge, to then leap in unison during the cry of “get down!”
Riding high and on a roll, Confidence Man wasted no time and continued to release singles between albums including their ravey festive ditty “Santa’s Comin’ Down The Chimney” and “Does It Make You Feel Good?”
Aiming for “dance-pop that sounds like Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder”, the bouncy beat was embraced by a rapidly growing audience right ahead of a huge European headline tour marking a move towards mainstream success.
Confidence Man left the iconic indie label Heavenly and found a new home on Mushroom subsidiary I Oh You before returning with their second LP Tilt in 2021. Following the release of lead single "Holiday", they came back with the second helping "Feels Like a Different Thing" which was accompanied by a Mad Max-inspired promo vid shot in the same location as the original 1985 film.
Tilt leaned even harder into house, a move that was well received by fans who propelled it into the Top 10 in Australia and the top of the UK Dance chart. The record also won Best Independent Dance or Electronica Album at the 2022 ARIA Music Awards.
Teaming up with DJ Seinfeld, “Now U Do” was a limited white label pressing that dropped via Ninja Tune in 2022 and later featured on the ConMan Club Classics Vol. 1 remix album.
The collaboration with the Swedish house producer came about organically, having previously frequently met on the party scene. The track captures the Ibiza vibes including the sense of excitement, adventure, and optimism of travelling to the sun-kissed club mecca.
Expectations are high for Confidence Man‘s next album 3AM (La La La) thanks to a breathtaking appearance on the Other Stage at Glastonbury plus their incredible new single “I CAN’T LOSE YOU”. The infectious tune goes big on the 90s beats and the video sees Janet Planet and Sugar Bones dance naked high in the sky in helicopters.
3AM (La La La) is released later this year and is supported by a UK headline tour which kicks off in November. Confidence Man tickets are currently available with Gigantic, CLICK HERE to book yours.
