ALBUMS

ENTER SHIKARI – ‘Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible

It seems quite prescient, given the current pandemic, that experimental rockers Enter Shikari would choose to centre the themes of their new album ‘Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible’ around human potential in the face of adversity. When faced with the greatest hardships, we can turn to artistic expression to make sense of it all.

That’s the wonderful thing about art – it changes within the context which you put it in. If our last album was an exploration of human vulnerability, this one is an exploration of human possibility.

Over the last five years of political shocks and everything that we’re going through now, that’s shifted from something of positivity and motivation to something quite frightening. There’s a realism on the album. I could never be in a doom metal band. We’ll always make music with that essential sense of optimism, but at the same time realism is the most important thing for us.” – Rou Reynolds

The St Albans based band will be hitting the road and touring the UK to promote their latest material in November.

Enter Shikari tickets are currently available.

RA THE RUGGED MAN – ‘All My Heroes Are Dead

NYC hip hop ace RA The Rugged Man (AKA R.A Thorburn) returns with his third album ‘All My Heroes Are Dead’. Pulling no punches, Thorburn tells stories of how he rose against all the odds, having been inspired by the late greats who are no longer with us. Expect anger, challenging language and shocking moments as he spits vicious bars over twenty two tracks.

So many of the greats are gone, and the legends who made it out alive are cast aside. Society left our heroes and their culture for dead. We have to dig that greatness out of its grave, and bring it back with an angry vengeance.

Perhaps now, Thorburn is finally no longer the perennial outsider as ‘All My Heroes Are Dead’ features a huge star studded list of contributors, including Wu-Tang rapper Ghostface Killah, Public Enemy MC Chuck D, the legendary Ice-T, Inspectah Deck, Kool G Rap, Timbo King, Atmosphere, Vinnie Paz, Eamon and Brand Nubian. Such a pedigree of ensembled collaborators really highlights just how important this record is.

Make sure you see RA The Rugged Man play a special headline show at Jazz Cafe in London on Friday 2nd of October – tickets on sale with Gigantic right now!
