Motion City Soundtrack Tickets

This is your last ever chance to see Motion City Soundtrack. Sadly, the alternative-indie rock band have announced their last ever gigs as part of their So Long, Farewell Tour.

Guitarist Joshua Cain and singer Justin Pierre first started working together in Saddest Girl Story before starting Motion City Soundtrack. Although the Minneapolis band first started in 1997 it took some time before it took the much loved shape we recognise today. Plagued by line-up changes, a lack of appropriate local gig venues and the necessity of having to work, the band initially found it hard to practice, play and develop.

The hardship continued after the band tried and failed to record their first album themselves. Scraping $6,000 together, the band hired Get Up Kids producer Ed Rose and released their debut album I Am The Movie in 2003 which were packaged by hand inside floppy disks.

The album drew considerable label interest in the band, who chose to sign to rock label Epitaph Records over the Universal. After playing the Warped Tour the band were joined by Blink 182 bassist Mark Hoppus to join them in the studio to produce their second album. Commit This To Memory proved to be the band’s breakthrough album upon its release in 2005 hitting #2 in the Billboard Independent Chart.

The band’s success grew even greater with their third album Even If It Kills Me. The 2007 record saw them reach #16 in the Billboard 200. The band signed to major label Columbia Records and released My Dinosaur Life in 2010 which shot the band even higher in the Billboard 200 to #15.

The band returned to Epitaph for 2012 album Go which focused on themes of reflection, examining relationships and the nature of loss through the death of a loved one.

Panic Stations would prove to be the final studio album for the band. Confident and self-assured, the record was described by Rolling Stone Australia as "one of the best records of their career."

Motion City Soundtrack tickets can be bought online through the Gigantic website.

In August the band’s last ever tour will see them playing at O2 Manchester Ritz, O2 Institute2 Birmingham and KOKO in London.

Always book your concert tickets early in order to avoid disappointment.
