Absolutely fantastic! Bastille were amazing and we loved the venue too.

Bastille, Powderham Castle, Exeter - 2nd July 2023

Bastille- wow, a brilliant night

Well organised, good communication on venue parking and entrance arrangements, bar prices ok, didn’t have any food so cannot comment. The bands ‘Deloras forever’ especially were excellent support act, good build up to Bastille who were fabulous. Toilet facilities were again ok, better signage for gents urinals could have been better ( friends joined queue for Porto loos not realising there was a separate queue). However, all in all we had a brilliant evening and will be looking out for 2024 events. Shame that the band had to stop for the idiots (drunk or otherwise) who decided to spoil the evening for those close bye.

Bastille, Warwick Castle, Warwick - 19th July 2023

Good vibes

The while concert ran very smoothly, I can't complain too much however, I was expecting a few more of their #1 chart songs. But they were still great and we had a good night.

Great gig

Great gig in a very good location. Food was terrible, and massively overpriced, especially the pizza wagon !! Awful. Needed to ask for a refund Will definitely be looking at future gigs at Powderham Castle

Hailing from south London, Bastille began life as the musical vehicle of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dan Smith, whose birthday falls on Bastille Day. When he teamed up with Chris Wood, William Farquarson and Kyle Simmons in 2010, the band as we now know it was formed.

Bastille released a limited edition double A-side 7"/45 rpm single featuring the two tracks ‘Flaws’ and ‘Icarus’ after signing with indie label Young and Lost Club in 2011. This was followed up with the release of their EP ‘Laura Palmer’, which took its title from the name of a character in David Lynch’s cult classic television drama ‘Twin Peaks’. Having released some tracks online, the band garnered a loyal following and secured a host of major UK festival slots, including appearances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Blissfields.

The band signed a record deal with Virgin/EMI in late 2011. The following year saw a string of Bastille concerts as the band built up a reputation as an impressive live act on the British music scene. Then on 4 March 2013, the group’s debut album ‘Bad Blood’ was released in the UK. The album, which includes the introspective singalong single ‘Overjoyed’, brought the foursome chart success and critical acclaim.

Having struck a nerve with indie fans around the world with ‘Bad Blood’, the group treated their followers to a extended version of the album later that year. This release included a second disc divided into two parts. Part one, entitled ‘All this Bad Blood’, features both old and new songs that the band had not previously released. The second part includes selections from the band’s mixtapes ‘Other People’s Heartache Parts 1 and 2’.

The group’s hard work was recognised at the 2014 Brit Awards where they bagged a trophy for the Best Breakthrough Act and were nominated for British Album of the Year, British Single of the Year, and British Group.

Fans and critics were thrilled with their latest album ‘Wild World’, released in September of 2016.
