Groove-tastic

Last night of their tour and the band were in good spirits, playing a mix of new and old tunes. Every song was a winner but I particularly loved the version of Right On Satellite they played; slowing it down and teasing the assembled with hints at a drop, before finally allowing it to take off. The crowd were up for a groove and a sing-song plus the venue & sound impressed too.

Superfood, Thekla, Bristol - 4th October 2017

Taking their cues from the Britpop sound of the 90’s, Superfood are a confident band that bring with them the good times. Led by Don Ganderton and Ryan Malcolm, their music veers wonderfully from big guitar tracks to electronic influenced bangers.

Their debut album is titled Don’t Say That which was released in 2014 which gave the music press a healthy taste for Superfood.

Whilst their influences or similarities to other bands from the ‘90s cannot be denied, there’s something happening that lifts them above other ‘same-period’ revivalists. Exactly what that is isn’t easy to pinpoint but for anyone that even slightly misses the decade that saw Britpop bands pop up left, right and centre you could do a lot worse for your health than take in some Superfood.” - Music OMH

With their impending second album on the way, they have announced a tour to show off the new material. See them play at Bristol Thekla, The Bodega at Nottingham and Dryden Street Social in Leicester during October, 2017.
