Saul Williams Tickets

Saul Williams pushes forward the frontiers of hip hop into brave new experimental realms. Blending poetry with his own unique take on hip hop and rap he creates his own unique sound that is a massive departure from all that proceed him.

Full name Saul Stacey Williams, he was youngest of three children and was born in Newburgh, New York, in 1972. Showing early promise as slam poet, William won the title of Nuyorican Poets Cafe's Grand Slam Champion by 1996 and was featured in the documentary SlamNation.

By 1998 he had expanded into music and released a string of EPs and realised his first album Amethyst Rock Star in 2001. His unique sound made him totally without peers and saw him rise in popularity and highly regarded by other spoken word performers and experimenters with sound. It was no surprise that he attracted the attention of Trent Reznor and appeared on the Nine Inch Nails album Year Zero. The pair would also work together on their collaborative album The Inevitable Rise And Liveration Of NiggyTardust! To date, Saul Williams can boast a total of six studio albums.

Williams is also no stranger to the stage and screen having appeared in the film Slam (1998) which he helped to write, he had had acting part in the film Today (2012) and played the lead role in the Broadway production of Holler If Ya Hear Me in 2014.
