Fantastic night, superb support bands & great venue. PINS stormed it!!!

Firstly I loved the venue for this event. It was my first visit to the Moth Club in Hackney & it was a lovely venue. I liked the old school style bar area where it was possible to relax & take refuge, (at times,) from the main stage area. The second support act, Baby In Vain, were great but it was a full on assault of guitars played in a heavy/grungy style. Sometimes nice to take time out from that!! First band Yassassin were fantastic & very entertaining. I understand that they played their debut gig just over a year ago @ The Moth Club, so this venue obviously has a special place in their hearts & minds. Great band & I wish them every success in the future. So pleased to see PINS again after first encountering them when they supported Honeyblood on tour in late 2016. Now one of my 'must see' live bands. Great songs & performance & the ladies are also very charming in person. 2 great albums out & now an upcoming tour with Maximo Park. 2017 should be 'The Year Of PINS' with the UK singing, in vast numbers, 'All Hail'

PINS superb

I only arrived for the last song of the first band, Honey, so cannot really comment. The second band was Yellow Brain and were good. Strangely I saw them the next night when they had grown by a third, which really helped. PINS however, were excellent. They have a great stage presence with personality in spades. However, it's just excellent song after excellent song after excellent song, so how could you go wrong?

PINS, The Sugarmill, Stoke-on-Trent - 5th March 2020

Superb Night......PINS are mighty fine!!!

Firstly, this was my 3rd time of seeing PINS live in the past 12 months. I rate them as one of the top 3 touring UK rock acts, alongside Honeyblood and Wolf Alice. Great live show, brilliant songs, image, musicianship & stage presence. Faith reminds me of Siouxsie in the way she performs. The band smile and bop around a lot and talk to the audience right from the start. Encores usually end with a stage full of audience members/support acts. Charming in person on the merch stall & I always leave smiling and looking forward to catching them again soon. Venue, The Garage Islington........NOT one seat in the entire place. I have an injured ankle @ the moment so wasn't best pleased. Also, DODGY bar staff (male) tried to give me an old ten pound note in my change & on a previous visit a male member of the bar staff tried to short change me by £10. Be warned people..........they must be ripping off punters right left & centre. The girls that have served me have been fine..............NUFF SAID. Highly recommend PINS to anyone thinking of going to see them on their current UK/Ireland tour. 'ALL HAIL' these 'Young Girls' are 'Trouble' of the very best kind! Obrigade

Great Energy

Superb songs still in the subconscious days after the show. Somewhere in there was an echo of a long gone Johnny Thunders.

Pins, The Big Difference (formerly The Cookie), Leicester - 21st April 2017

Caustic post punk band PINS never fail to impress whenever they play. See them rip up the stage at Newcastle Think Tank on Friday 25th of September, then Dead Wax at Birmingham, O2 Academy2 Leicester, Omeara in London, The Bodega at Nottingham, O2 Academy2 Sheffield, Rough Trade Bristol and Yes (The Pink Room) in Manchester during October 2020.

Artist Bio

Manchester rock band PINS consists of singer/guitarist Faith Holgate, guitarist Lois McDonald, bassist Anna Donigan, and drummer Sophie Galpin.

Manchester all-female four-piece PINS have announced the release of new single ‘Young Girls’, which was released on the same day as new album ‘Wild Nights’ through Bella Union.

‘Young Girls’ is an upbeat yet disconcerting track about friendship, being young and the boredom of everyday life, which features a prominent jangly surf rock guitar line throughout and Faith’s signature raspy vocal. The video, shot in the band’s hometown of Manchester, portrays the band stuck at home reliving the same days before escaping on a dark adventure.

Recorded in Joshua Tree at Rancho De La Luna with Dave Catching (QOTSA, Eagles of Death Metal) and Hayden Scott, and mixed in New York with Ben Baptie at Atomic Sound NYC (Mark Ronson), PINS’ second album ‘Wild Nights’, the follow-up to debut ‘Girls Like Us’, was released through Bella Union.

Speaking about their second album, PINS say “With Wild Nights we didn't want to be bound to the sound of our first album. The albums were recorded years apart, and in Wild Nights you can hear the new experiences, ambitions, and influences we've taken on. We have introduced new instruments, and stronger vocal harmonies - and have brought this through to our live performances.

This album has the angsty energy of Girls Like Us, but with more detail and attention that came over time from growing together as musicians, and understanding ourselves better as women. Wild Nights is a diary, complete with confessions and secrets - the album is a mixture of emotions. Like they say, 'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade'.
