Mona are certainly not short on ambition. The alternative indie rock from Nashville have set their ambitions high stating that they will be bigger than U2. Having excited critics on either side of the pond, they look well on their way to achieving that ambition.

The band line up consists of drummer Vince Gard, guitarists Jordan Young and Nick Brown who also is the singer plus Zach Lindsey on bass.

They have just announced two upcoming unmissable dates. See them play O2 Academy 2 Oxford and O2 Academy2 Newcastle during December 2018.

The band impressed Saul Galpern, creator of Nude Records, who soon signed them and got them a deal with major label Island Records. The band appeared on the BBC’s Later… With Jools Holland in 2010 where they performed the songs Teenager, Listen To Your Love and Lines In The Sand.

By the end of the year the BBC had shortlisted them for the Sound Of 2011 poll. They also took home the title of Brand New For 2011 at the MTV Awards.

Their eponymously titled debut album Mona was released in 2011, with follow up album Torches & Pitchforks coming another two years later.
