Loved the band, loved the atmosphere, crowd was a little too reserved

Party band two piece Japandroids are known for their unmissable live shows. The band rose to receive huge critical acclaim with their two amazing albums Post-Nothing and Celebration Rock, the latter of which was listed by Rolling Stone in their article on The 10 Coolest Summer Albums Of All Time.

They release their brand new album Near To The Wild Heart Of Life in January of 2017 setting them up for their recently announced dates at which the new material is expected to feature heavily. Touring in May, they will headline at O2 Institute2 Birmingham and O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London.

Drummer David Prowse and singer / guitarist Brian King met whilst studying at college. Heavily influenced by the garage rock sound of seminal band The Sonics and the DIY methods of punk bands like Fugazi, the pair formed a band fusing the two suggested names of Japanese Scream and Pleasure Droids.

The burst onto the scene in 2006 and became essential viewing amongst independent circles. Debut album Post-Nothing was released three years later to huge acclaim being listed on the Polaris Music Prize and Juno Award for Alternative Album Of The Year. It was followed in 2012 by second album Celebration Rock which enthralled audiences around the world.
