Amazing performance

Absolutely brilliant set list from James. Never fail to bring out the anthems and please the crowd. Supporting acts were fab in their own right - tickets were a bargain to see James plus four other acts! Thank you!

James, Darlington Arena, Darlington - 5th August 2023

Bands were amazing shame about facilities

Really enjoyed the bands they where brilliant always wanted to see James and they sounded as good aa ever ! The facilities on the other hand, not enough toilets for the amount of people who attended, I queued for over 40 minutes for the toilets and there was no chance of getting to the bars ,shame you weren’t allowed to take your own !

Another great James gig

1st time at a Slessor Gardens gig - venue very easy to find, central Dundee Well organised entry, plenty of food and drink outlets and loafs of portaloos Only downside was the "gold enclosure" fenced-off area right in front of the stage

Amazing

Loved James and Razorlite as excellent performances. Didn't like venue as so disorganised. Took me 40 mins at least to get into the venue as we were in a queue which snaked all the way up and down Dundee streets. People then got fed up and stampeded across the road in front of others so booing was heard from them! Security couldn't do much as it was just a shambles. Once inside the queues were ridiculous so nothing was bought by myself. In the disabled part there was only 1 portaloo. I wouldn't go back to Slessor gardens unless it's for someone I'm desperate to see, that aren't playing anywhere else that I can get to. Still loved the performers as the gig was well worth it.

Artist Bio

Rising to prominence in the late eighties and becoming established in the early nineties on the wave of the Manchester music scene; James are amongst the world’s most premier indie bands. Having a reputation for fiery live shows after touring for over 25 years, headlining some of the biggest festivals and best venues around the world, they have a well-earned reputation for being an essential live act.

James reached international stardom with such massive hit singles as Laid, Sit Down and She’s A Star. They have amassed seven amazing Top 10 albums and have gone on to sell over 25 million albums worldwide.

Their band members include drummer David Baynton-Power, trumpet plus percussion by Andy Diagram, Larry Gott playing lead guitar with rhythm guitar by Saul Davies and Jim Glennie on bass. They are now reunited with enigmatic singer Tim Booth to once again enrapture audiences.

Working under various names, they began to draw crowds whilst playing under the name Model Team and then Tribal Outlook. Signing to infamous Manchester label Factory Records with Tony Wilson, they emerged in the early nineties as ‘the next big thing’ and were glorified by the music press such as NME.

Their string of excellent single hits were brought out by cult label Rough Trade and saw them rise from indie darlings to the predicted mainstream success. Their legacy endures with legions of loyal fans who continue to sell out their shoes to this day.
