Croydon native A2 began his journey with music aged 14, gaining some local plaudits as a young and hungry grime MC, but it was the Soundcloud era where A2 really began to lay the foundations for what is now undoubtedly one of the strongest cultlike fan bases in the UK scene. His mixtape, Hennessy Thoughts, showcased his lyrical depth over some stripped back, raspy and soulful production, which set the tone for an impressive run of EP’s that worked to make A2 one of the city’s hottest, most enigmatic prospects in the scene. The ever increasing buzz surrounding A2 made rising star, Stormzy tap him to support his Brixton Academy shows on his Gang Signs and Prayer tour. As he continued making waves with his drops on Soundcloud, the anticipation ofhis mixtape, Blue took the internet by storm, finally releasing the project in the Winter of 2017. The mixtape received fantastic critical reception which culminated in a sold out show at infamous Camden venue KOKO, as well as a string of shows across theglobe in Berlin, Paris and Portland, Oregon. He also performed at the Red Bull Culture Clash in Atlanta.Always one to stay out of the spotlight and let the quality of his music do the talking, his next projects, the Purple EP and his mixtape All Spill birthed underground cult classics like Southside, Renegade, Smoked Out and Fill The Void.Priding himself on the staying away from the gimmicks and remaining true to his artistry, A2 has an exciting run of big collaboration singles that will close out the end of 2022, with some big plans for Winter 2023.
